VANCOUVER, May 3, 2011 – Strategem Capital Corporation (“Strategem” or the “Company”) (TSXV: SGE) is pleased to announce that, effective today, Ross Stringer will be joining the Company’s board of directors.
A brief biography of the newly appointed director is as follows:
Ross Stringer holds a Bachelor’s degree from Simon Fraser University where he majored in Commerce and Economics. He is also as Chartered Accountant and operates in public practice with a national firm, with a focus on the financial services industry, including such fields as pension funds, chartered banks, credit unions and brokers/dealers. As well, he has clients in real estate management and development
and has recently expanded his client base to those working in the mineral exploration and operation industry.
Mr. Stringer’s areas of practice include advisory and risk-based assurance services at operational as well as governance levels. Examples of services provided include financial statement audits; internal audit (risk and compliance based); business continuity plans; fraud investigation; general business advisory; risk modeling and assessments; IFRS conversion; and public listing compliance. These roles and his many years of experience has permitted him to establish relationships with both federal and provincial regulatory institutions in Canada and, most recently, in Ireland.
Mr. Stringer’s previous board positions encompass private business in the services industry as well as many public service organizations. He has recently accepted an advisory board role for the Central Bank of Ireland to assist with the reorganization of regulatory and operational frameworks.
